Translate an SRT or a video's captions

  1. Drop a video to caption it, or import an existing SRT or VTT file.
  2. Above the caption list, open "Translate to…" and pick a language. You see the credit cost before anything happens.
  3. The translation opens as a new track. Read it through, fix any line, then download SRT or VTT, or burn it into the video.

Why most free subtitle translators break the timing

Many online tools translate the file as one block of text and then try to cut it back into lines, or they cap the file size, so long videos come back with lines merged, split or shifted. Here each caption is translated as its own line with the lines around it as context, and the timecodes never pass through the translator at all.

Several languages for the same video

Translate as many times as you like: each language becomes another track, and the original is always one click away. Upload one SRT per language to YouTube, or render a separate MP4 for each audience.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will the translated subtitles stay in sync with the video?

Yes. Only the text of each line is translated. Every start and end time is copied from the original, so the new language lines up exactly where the speech does.

Can I translate an SRT file I already have?

Yes. Drop the SRT or VTT on the tool (with the video if you want to burn the result in), then choose a language from "Translate to…" above the caption list.

What happens to the original subtitles?

They are kept as their own track. Switch between the original and each translation from the track menu, edit any of them, and export whichever one you need.

How much does it cost?

It is free. Translating uses one credit for every started five minutes of video, per language, and visitors get 20 credits a day that refill daily. A 12-minute video costs 3 credits per language.

How good is the translation?

It is done by a large language model that sees neighbouring lines for context, which handles everyday speech well. Names, numbers and brand names are left as they are. Idioms and jokes can come out flat, so read it through before you publish.
